COOL Drive 4002 by
Coolmaster |

Unpacking the Cool Drive 4002
Manual, pack of screws, aluminium case

Opening the mini-tower to retrieve the hard disk from the bottom 3 1/2" bay
Open one top 5 1/4" bay slot to receive the Cool Drive case

Seagate 60 Gb hard disk extracted. Fitting on Cool Drive base platform

Fitting the base platform with hard disk attached on the aluminium bay case

Fittin the Cool Drive fully assembled case on the 5 1/4" top bay of the mini
tower

(re)Fitting of internal power and data cables
Debrief:
The CoolMaster Cool Drive 4002 40mm
fan was very noisy.
A very high pitch sound (very persistent) made it a "no go"
after 10 mins of
testing.
Just on the side of this mini tower is a
Chieftec full tower fully equiped
with 5 x 80mm fans plus 1 x 92mm fan and nothing compares to the
high pitch that the single 40mm fan on the Cool Drive produces.
Plan B: Re-fitting the hard disk back on the mini tower,
still on the 5 1/4" bay using 3 1/2" to 5 1/4" rail adapters

Done. Hard disk fitted on top bay with no Cool Drive
and with no high pitch fan noise.
